Atmospheric Underwater Space

SPACE Thematic Services

in NEANIAS project
The NEANIAS Space Research is focused on the co-design of three innovative services in the Space environment for user-communities within R&D. The services will deliver a springboard of tools to enrich the workflows of a wide range of targeted users from academic/research institutions to industrial stakeholders e.g. aerospace engineering and related technological companies, but also national space agencies and public outreach bodies e.g. space museums and planetariums.

SPACE Thematic Services

The NEANIAS Space Research is focused on the co-design of three innovative services which are the SPACE-VIS: Data Management and Visualization, SPACE-MOS: Map Making and Mosaicing multidimensional images, and SPACE-ML: Structure detection with Machine Learning techniques in the Space environment for user-communities within R&D (Research and Development).

SPACE-VIS: Data Management and Visualization

The service provides anadvanced operational solution for data management and visualization of astrophysics and planetary FAIR data based on widespread and popular tools like VisIVO, ADN, PlanetServer and ADAM.

SPACE-MOS: Making and Mosaicing multidimensional images

The service provides functionalities for making high quality images from the raw data captured by instruments (map making) and for assembling those images into custom mosaics (mosaicing).

SPACE-ML: Structure detection with Machine Learning techniques

The service provides advanced solutions for pattern and structure detection in astronomical surveys as well as in planetary surface composition, topography and morphometry. The service includes tools such as CAESAR, CuTEx and VLFF and integrates cutting-edge Machine Learning algorithms to perform advanced classification for structures of sources in the sky or planetary surfaces to identify regions of interest.

The NEANIAS project

NEANIAS (Novel EOSC Services for Emerging Atmosphere, Underwater & Space Challenges) is an ambitious project that comprehensively addresses the challenges set out in the ‘Roadmap for EOSC’ actions. NEANIAS promotes Open Science practices and plays active role in the materialization of the EOSC ecosystem by efficiently engaging large scientific and professional communities; actively contributing to the technological, procedural, strategic and business development of EOSC. NEANIAS is driving the co-design and delivery of innovative thematic services, derived from state-of-the-art research assets and practices in three major sectors: Underwater research, Atmospheric research and Space research, each engaging multitudinous academic and business groups, numerous researchers, professionals and governmental entities.
